Key System Customisation

1

Keyed Alike (KA)

Definition: One key opens multiple locks that are all keyed the same.

Use case: Convenience. You have multiple doors (e.g., front door, back door, garage) but want to carry just one key.

Example:
All doors in your house have locks that work with a single key.

2

Master Key System (MK)

Definition: Each lock has its own unique key, but there is also one master key that opens all the locks.

Use case: Control and access hierarchy. Used in offices, schools, apartments, etc.

Example:

Individual office doors have their own keys.

The building manager has a master key that opens all doors.

3

Construction Key System (CK)

Definition: A temporary key (construction key) works during construction, but stops working once the owner inserts their own key.

Use case: Builders or contractors can access during construction, but not after handover.

Example:

Builders use a construction key to access the house while building.

Once you insert your permanent key, the lock disables the construction key.
